Embraco | Embraco Plug n'Cool: A new concept in refrigeration by Isadora Mezari Zoldan
The case study is a comparative analysis at a supermarket of a semi-hermetic system with HCFC and a new solution that consists in a plug’n’play self-contained system using natural refrigerant (HC). The case will show the enhancements of Embraco solution, such as environmental impact and customer perception, resulting in 70% faster installation, lower maintenance cost and an increase of 25% on the exhibition area.
Emerson | Emerson's natural refrigerant-based solutions for developing markets in Asia by Stella Wei
This presentation will cover success factors and lessons learned from natural refrigerant-based solutions implemented by Emerson, and will share CO2 installations in supermarket chains and cold rooms in China. Lastly, research results on R290 cooling and heating applications wll be presented.
GIZ Proklima | Market introduction of hydrocarbon split air-conditioners in Asia: Challenges and opportunities by Philipp Munzinger
Split type air conditioners operating with HFCs account for the largest share of GHG emissions among all refrigeration and AC sectors in Asia, both in terms of energy use and refrigerant emissions. In response to that, GIZ Proklima advises manufacturers in several Asian countries in transitioning to energy efficient hydrocarbon split type ACs. The presentation unfolds insights on cost efficiency of split ACs in different Asian markets, successful market introduction of hydrocarbon split ACs in India, as well as challenges and opportunities related to introducing hydrcarbon split ACs in other Asian countries.
Scantec | Large scale, low NH3 charge, central refrigeration plant by Stefan S. Jensen
The case study will discuss what is believed to be the first central type, dual compression stage, low charge NH3 refrigeration plant in China and the largest central, low NH3 charge refrigeration plant operating successfully in Queensland, Australia. The Chinese installation is fitted with external penthouse evaporators with automatic ambient air defrost. The ambient air defrost prevents potential contamination of the warehouse with NH3 and eliminates liquid hammer issues associated with some hot gas defrost methods. This improves the overall safety of the installation. The Queensland installation services a 114,000 m3 refrigerated warehouse. The low temperature/medium temperature refrigeration capacities are 500/600 kW respectively. The measured specific energy consumption during first quarter of operation is 17 kWh/m3*a. This includes blast freezing of approximately 50 ton of meat products daily. Superior energy performances are achieved through the use of variable frequency drives on all compressors and evaporator fans. The case study will include measured specific energy performances over an extended period for both plants.
