Patrick McInerney is Director of the International Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Section in the Australian Government Department of the Environment. He has worked on ozone layer protection and synthetic greenhouse gas policy since 2003. Patrick was responsible for establishing Australia's end use controls in the refrigeration and air conditioning as well as fire protection industries, and more recently has led the review of the ozone protection and synthetic greenhouse gas programme. Internationally Patrick is co-chairing negotiations for a global phase-down of HFCs under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
